Eleven years ago I had an accident resulting in a severe back injury. (I heard something tear over my left hip). After 6 months of physical therapy, I was still in pain and sleeping on a heating pad every night. My boyfriend was seeing a chiropractor for a worker’s comp injury and finally convinced me to see him as well.
Within the first three treatments I was significantly better with much less pain and much more mobility. I was able to resume normal activities, too.
Since that time, I have re-injured myself and sustained some new injures, however, whenever I do, Dr. Steven Perry is always there to help me. I would certainly not be as functional as I am today, if it were not for Dr. Perry. His warmth and concern are as much a part of the healing process as his chiropractic skills.
I have referred numerous friends and co-workers to him, who have also been pleased. I took my mother into see him this summer and she felt much better afterwards. Dr. Perry is like that disappearing breed – the wonderful, dependable family doctor you can always count on.

I injured my neck; mid and lower back July 1996 while working as a Physical Therapist in an acute care hospital. My injuries occurred as a result of repetitive injuries while I was lifting and transferring my patients at work, using proper body mechanics. The pain I felt over the next week escalated to unbearable, and thus began my nine months of severe discomfort and total temporary disability.
I needed to assign a primary physician to my case, and my employer did not allow me to have Dr. Perry assigned to my case until a 30 day period was up. I wanted a chiropractor to be my primary instead of a traditional M.D., because I wanted my spine to be fixed naturally, and to avoid medications and injections. Before this injury I had occasional aches in my back and neck, but these symptoms were new, and my back pain radiated all the way down to my left foot, with associated numbness.
Before Dr. Perry could see me, I saw medical doctors on a weekly basis at the hospital. These physicians often didn’t even touch or examine me, and ultimately prescribed anti-inflammatory and ant spasm medications. I took Motrin and Soma for a while to control my symptoms.
My life totally changed from being a very active person who danced and exercised 3-5 times a week to a disabled person who could hardly move. This was very frustrating to me. I was also unable to work at my job.
Finally, I saw Dr. Perry for an initial exam, and started his treatment three times a week. It was weeks before I started feeling netter. I received pelvic traction, rollers with heat, ultrasound and adjustments that made a great difference in my symptoms.
I feel that in a way Dr. Perry has saved my life. Through chiropractic care, my spine has naturally healed, and I went back to work at another job (without lifting) one year after my injury in July of 1997. I gradually started my exercise routine within months after my treatment, initially concentrating on water exercises.
Now I lead a “normal” life, working and exercising. I workout aerobically four times a week, and also exercise with heavy pulley weights twice weekly. I approach my exercise with a slight bit more amount of caution after my injury, but feel my active lifestyle helps my spine stay healthy. I also stretch and do my back exercises every other day.
Thank you to Dr. Perry and his staff for saving my spine and giving my active life back to me. I am eternally grateful.
Sincerely,
Jeannie D. MPH, PT
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I want to share with you and thank Dr. Steven Perry for changing my life.
I’ve been in three automobile accidents over the past several years all of them being rear end collisions at a red light. For six years I managed with minor pain until the most recent accident, which happened while I was pregnant. This intensified my neck pain and caused lower back problems. I have been treated by several therapists and chiropractors only to come to the conclusion that I was stuck living with constant headaches and regular does of Advil on a daily basis. Being in pain was a domino effect for me. It caused sleep problems, being irritable and cranky to the ones closest to me, and I became nonproductive in my daily life.
About 2 ½ years ago I was introduces to Dr. Perry at a networking meeting. He was very friendly, quite outspoken, and extremely confident. Being treated so many times in the past I was reluctant to try another chiropractor. A few months later I found myself with a migraine and after four days went to see Dr. Perry.
I found his approach so caring and genuine. He was the first doctor to teach me about the malfunctions, and therefore the symptoms that were causing the pain and how he intended to correct them. After my first treatment I was amazed. Before my adjustment not only was I near tears in pain but I felt like I had speed bumps in my neck and couldn’t rotate from side to side. When I left his office my headache was GONE! If it hadn’t happened to me I would not have believed it. My husband believed me the next morning because it was the first night’s sleep I had the whole week and I didn’t wake up complaining of pain. I want to extend the biggest hear filled thank you to Dr. Steven Perry and staff for caring and having the knowledge to heal. Dr. Perry is truly one of a kind in his profession.
Thank you so much,
Marlo M.
Dear Dr. Perry, Susan, and Kelly,
When I first came to your office I had no idea about the journey I was about to embark on. What I did know was that I was in a lot of pain and nothing seemed to help. My mother had referred me to your office stating that “you’ve never met anyone like him, and Susan and Kelly are so nice!!!” I had been to a chiropractor before and have to admit, I had never felt significantly better after being treated only once. My consultation was unlike anything I could have expected. Dr. Perry and I sat in the exam room for nearly an hour talking about how I felt, where I was in pain (which was just about everywhere). He was extremely patient with me and explained to me in detail what was causing my pain and what the process was to make it better. At the conclusion of my first treatment, Dr. Perry asked me something that no doctor had EVER asked me before: “How do you feel now?” I was taken aback but quickly responded that I was feeling “ok.” Yet again, he shocked me by stating that he did not want me to get off the table until I was feeling great, not just ok. It was at that point that I knew I was in great hands. When I left the office that day I had a great feeling of contentment knowing that I had found such a wonderful chiropractic office in Dr. Perry, Susan and Kelly.
Over the next several months I saw Dr. Perry frequently. Day by day, I could feel my body improving and getting stronger. With every return visit I developed a very strong bond with “DP”, Susan and Kelly. After a while I no longer saw them as my health care providers, but rather as extended family. They were even present at my wedding last year! Needless to say I sincerely looked forward to driving from Valencia to Tarzana for my visits.
It is impossible for me to imagine where I would be right now without having Dr. Perry, Susan and Kelly. They were able to get me back on my feet, running and playing harder and faster, than ever before. They have encouraged me in my recovery and in my daily life. They are the reason I could dance at my own wedding. In August, a business venture relocated my wife and I to Houston, Texas. When people ask what I miss most about California, without any hesitation I reply, “my chiropractor!”

Last year was really a rough year for me. You don’t realize how important your health is until it starts failing you. The pain started gradually as it often does. I was getting frequent sinus pressure headaches and nothing seemed to help. I tried a multitude of sinus over the counter medicines, received lavages of my sinuses, tried herbal tablets (which made me sick to my stomach), steam inhalation, hot compresses. It was miserable. The pain in my head got so bad, that I was bed ridden and in tears an entire day. I remember that day so well because it was Christmas. It subsided slightly eventually, just enough for me to go to work. Then other things began. Pain and numbness in my fingers and down my right leg, and a gnawing ache in my lower back. Always being a healthy, strong person, I contributed it to stress, fatigue or just “not taking care of myself” reason.
Then I heard of Dr. Perry who was giving a free seminar in the building I worked and was offering free food! And not just chips and crackers, but a full course meal. I have to admit the free food was a definite added incentive, but I was curious about chiropractic. I had heard so many stories, some good and then some that said it wasn’t a real help but for just serious back injuries or problems. Well was I ever amazed. Chiropractic was all about the nervous system and how it related to every area of our body. I was surprised at the demonstrations and information. But I was still a little skeptical. Fortunately, Dr. Perry was offering free consultations. I thought that I was in so much pain and so unhappy that I couldn’t get to enjoy my life, why not see if this could help.
By time I got to Dr. Perry’s office, I was in tears with all the pain I was feeling. By then I was limping and wore a back brace I had got at the drugstore. The excruciating headaches still continued, I had lost some feeling in my fingers and had little strength in my right hand. I was embarrassed, but the staff made me feel at home right away. My treatment plan would be nine months and my insurance would not cover chiropractic care. Fortunate for me, Dr. Perry’s office accepted a very affordable payment plan to fit my budget.
After 2 mos of regular appointments, most of my symptoms had subsided!!! My sinus headaches were nil!! After about three months, the pain in my back had disappeared. I was beginning to have a life again!! I continued the entire treatment plan. I was amazed. Really amazed.
It’s been over a year now. I have missed some of my maintenance once a month appointments. The pain began to come back. I realized that treatment is important, but maintenance is double important. I thought at first, “I’m healed …. I don’t need any more help … I’m fine … other people may relapse, but not me”. Boy was I wrong. Maintenance is the key.
I learned a valuable lesson and to those skeptics that feel chiropractic is only for the back, I am a living testimony. I that Dr. Perry and his wonderful staff for giving my life back.

Dear Dr. Perry, Susan and Kelly,
It has almost been a year and three months since I walked through these doors. At that time I was leery, pessimistic and uncertain what exactly I was doing here. I was about to have carpal tunnel surgery and the surgeon was sending me to a Chiropractor. What was that all about? Here I am almost fifteen months later and I just cannot believe it. Not only am I better than when I walked in here, but also I now have three new and wonderful friends!
I want everyone who reads this letter to know that never before in my 59 years of going to Doctors have I ever been treated with so much love and care. Never before have I felt every single time I walk in here that I am special. Never before have I witnessed each and every person who walks in here treated as if they were the most important patient in the office.
The fact is that most people hear Chiropractor and think, oh no, not me, he’s not really a doctor. Dr. Perry puts that theory to shame! He is more knowledgeable, more in touch with what is going on in the medical worked that most of the physicians I have been to in the last ten years, that’s for sure. He was the only one who recognized that the pain in my arm and hand were coming from my neck. He was the one who insisted that I have an MRI to prove it. He was the one who suggested an EMG to determine what was happening with me when I wasn’t getting better. He was the one who sent me where I really needed to go and guess what, I did get better!
Not only did he help me, but he also helped both of my sons. Susan, you are the sweetest, kindest, most loving, and caring soul. I will treasure our friendship always.
Kelly, what can I say, you light up the office, you are efficient, perky, cute and most of all keep everything running like clockwork. I have loved every minute I have spent in this office because you make me feel so special.
The three of you have gone way above and beyond the call of duty and I have so much respect for what you do and how you do it. I will always be grateful for how you made me feel when I felt the worst and how you, Dr. Perry, were so in touch with how I was feeling, not only physically, but emotionally. You always seemed to know the exact spot my pain was coming from and exactly when I was feeling the most depressed. I will always remember your hugs and kind words and advice when I needed it the most.
What more can I say, but that I will always remember my days at Dr. Perry’s office as the most rewarding days of this past year! I thank you, Michael thanks you, Adam thanks you and my Marty thanks you for helping all of us beyond belief!
Love,
Roberta

Ten years ago, I was having stomach pain and digestive problems. After one week I could not stand the pain, so I went to go see my doctor. The medicine he prescribed did not help the pain or the digestive problems. The pain was so severe that the doctor made me go back to see him three times in one month. The drugs he prescribed only lessened the pain, but did not cure it. After one year, I was having other problems: sleeping, sore throat, headaches, fatigue, cold feet, chronic flu and was very nervous.
During the past ten years I have gone from doctor to doctor and I have taken many drugs and did not get better. I was still suffering from the same symptoms until I was treated by Dr. Perry.
Within the first three treatments, I felt much less pain and I was able to sleep better. It has been two months since the first treatment with Dr. Perry and I feel very well. My condition is about 80% better. I feel just a little pain. I am very lucky to have found Dr. Perry and I want to thank him for bringing my health back.
Sincerely,
Rafael S.
Dear Dr. Perry,
Since I began my chiropractic care with you in November of ’97, I have seen a remarkable, and to me, miraculous change in my health. For a few years, when I began spending most of my time in an office job, I developed a slightly achy lower back, something I felt I could and had to with, and I did. Once I went to my internist and took an anti-inflammatory for a while, and that helped me temporarily. However, in ’97, after six months in a highly stressful job where I was sitting behind a computer for 12-14 hours a day, not including my 1 ½ - 2 hour round trip commute, I was in serious trouble. I was suffering with extreme low back pain, radiating down my legs and into my knees- so bad, in fact, that when I would stand up from my desk, I could barely walk for a few minutes, and then it was with pain. I couldn’t take a stroll around the shopping mall for more than half an hour without constantly sitting down, due to pain. I couldn’t put on a pair of pants without extreme low back pain. I was even in pain while lying in bed trying to fall asleep. Plus I was having a lost of headaches, neck, and shoulder pain, and stomach distress. I tried to combat the pain through exercise, which helped somewhat, but did not solve my problem. I felt like one big mess.
On the advice of a friend, I came to you for help. You immediately educated me on the upcoming process and put me on a corrective care schedule. It only took about six weeks of visiting you three days a week for there to be noticeable improvement. The pain was becoming manageable, and in addition to the excellent care you and your staff gave me, you educated me on how to sit and sleep and move to avoid pain and further injury- things that I never would have given a second thought, but made a huge difference in the speed of my recovery.
I am down to two visits a month, and I am completely pain free. Every pain and symptoms I had is gone. I go to ballet and yoga classes where I do jumps, turns, stretches, and even shoulder stands. I take long walks and hikes, and do marathon trips to the mall. I can do folk dancing and go bowling. All these activities and no back pain afterward. I truly can’t imagine how poor the quality of my life would have been had I not had chiropractic care, nor can I believe how wonderful I feel after having chiropractic care. I want to thank you and your staff for a huge improvement in my health and in my life!
With much appreciation,
Gigi D.
On the recommendation of a friend, who suffered the after effects of the same automobile accident that I was in, I met Dr. Perry in May of 1998. A year and a half earlier I separated two spinal discs in my left lower lumbar spine. One disc bulged about four millimeters and the other ten. The accident left me in continuous excruciating pain from my hips down, especially on the left side. I endured a condition of sciatica so severe that for three months I could not walk at all. I had to roll across the floor from my bed to my bathroom, screaming all the way. I already had undergone a year of physical therapy including ultrasound, and adjustments administered by another chiropractor. I saw three orthopedic doctors including a surgeon, and had gone to Kaiser repeatedly as an outpatient, with few results and little hope. I had two minor surgeries involving cortisone injections, which resulted in sufficient reduction in swelling for me to regain the ability to walk. Even so, I required to use of muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatory three times a day, and xanax to fend off the panic attacks, which accompanied the horrible realization of how much I had lost under the influence of the drug therapy after the cortisone. I still could walk, no more than half a mile, stand no longer then two minutes and lift no more then 10lbs. I used to walk every where, five to ten miles a day, without any problems. I enjoyed long, labor intensive art projects and putting on special events. Whether I tried sitting, standing, walking, or lying, even after all of my treatment, it always felt like the left lower quarter of my body was on fire.
When my friend advised me to try Dr. Perry, I had no faith at all, but nothing to lose, since he gave me a gift certificate for the first visit. The friendly staff and comfortable environment impressed me even before I met Dr. Perry. It amazed me that he paid such attention to detail, during the consultation. Actually, I don’t recall anyone ever paying so much attention to me for anything. He explained everything he would do and why and how it would all work. When he saw my MRI and x-rays, he warned me that he had to make a conservative prognosis for my success. I began seeing Dr. Perry three times a week, then two, then one. Now I only go every two weeks and I’m amazed at the results.
From the first visit I felt immediate relief. The heat pack, rollers, massages, ultrasound and ice packs administered by such kind caring people felt great, but the traction and adjustments gave me back my life. After only a few months of treatments I went off all drugs except one anti-inflammitants a day. Dr. Perry recommended over the counter nutritional supplements that seemed to greatly enhance the results of my program. I am back to doing big projects, and living a happy active life with only minimal restrictions. I used to hurt so much that I measured time by visits to the doctor and now unless it’s time to go in, I can forget that I’m a patient, and once again define myself by the pursuit of my projects, interests and relationships. The success of my prognosis has surpassed all former hopes and I’m still gaining additional benefits. I have the stamina I had in my adolescence, which exceeds the energy levels I had even before the accident.
Thanks!
Rosalynn B.
I think chiropractic care is beneficial to your general health.
I noticed immediate improvement in my vision and breathing. I have asthma. Proper adjustments and the ultrasound treatments for my neck helped me become pain free for the first time in 10 years.
I will certainly take maintenance treatments to keep my health at optimum.
Chiropractic treatments are for everyone.
Thanks to Dr. Perry and his fine staff, I am pain free today and my range of motion is greatly improved.
Thank you.

Dear Dr. Perry, Susan, Kelly,
I have been working at the phone company for five years. In 2000 I started to get symptoms of carpal tunnel, with pain in the neck that went down my arm with very bad headaches and back pain. I initially went to see a doctor that my job had sent me to. The doctor advised me that there was no problem with my hands and wrists. I continued to work while getting therapy that I felt was not helping me, because the wrists and hands were really bothering me. There were times when I couldn’t even do my usually daily duties as a mother of four. The headaches would just not go away. I saw a total five different doctors in a two year period. It was always the same thing physical therapy and drugs for the pain. At one point I was taking so many different drugs, like: Ibuprofin, soma, naproxen, and Vicadin. The only time I felt a little better was when I was on the drugs but, I couldn’t even function- all it did was put me to sleep. I didn’t want to take so many drugs because I did not want to depend on the drugs to feel better, but I needed to be able to function. I was missing out on so many things that I love to do, like: dancing, playing baseball with my children and just feeling like a normal human being. It was very depressing for me because I had always been a very active person and all of a sudden it felt like my life had stopped. In September of 2003, I was referred to see Dr. Perry after about six weeks of treatment I could notice the difference in my health. My headaches have gone away. I can do things I was unable to do since my injury. When I first came to see Dr. Perry I was always in pain. I was always tired and had no energy. When I first came to see Dr. Perry, I was afraid of chiropractors, but now I look forward to therapy. I thank Dr. Perry for changing my life. I am on my way to a full recovery. I feel so much better. I have more energy, less pain, ad lead a more active life. Thank you for giving me my life back. I would recommend chiropractic care to everyone, especially Dr. Perry’s office. Not only does Dr. Perry make you feel better, but Susan and Kelly are the best. The office is like going to a friend’s house. They make you feel so comfortable and they take the time to help if you need special needs. After all my experiences at doctor’s offices, I would not change this one for any other. Thank you Dr. Perry, Susan, and Kelly for doing all you do for me. I really appreciate all your love and dedication. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Carmen G.
